Yes, still I rise

Out of the darkness

Out of the ashes

Just like a Phoenix

Wings flaying, flapping

Against the resistance

Up beyond earth

Beyond clouds, beyond sky

A few more laughs

A few more tears

Babies, children, pets

Pain, joy, longing

Death, love, fears

To freedom at last

And whatever waits there
