take away poem by Zack Mills

My nephew, Zack, is serving God in Taiwan.  Our family is so proud of him for deciding to leave his lovely life behind to help others less fortunate than himself.  He also writes beautiful poetry, and today I would like to share his latest with you instead of one of my own.

take away poem
no money and only this. richer than I've ever been
living far, way far east.

lateral distances and long term relationships disappear beneath a multi-dimensional surface perspective.

meanwhile, tones sing their songs on the streets, beating chants in traditions parades
living far, in the way far east.

coming closer to home? still its an internal travel, moving along time's roads; walking up or just waking up
in the far far east.

things deepen deeper on the road. it's always been so
on the path to the east
and as for others of old, they tell it the only way they know.
